Radius Tool-Poles for Layout

Radius Tool-Layout Poles

"NO BENDING OVER TOOLS"

This picture shows several types of the telescoping poles. One has a metal snap to hold the chain (also can hold the string line when snapping chalk lines) and the other has a chalk holder for making the markings.    "NO BENDING OVER TOOLS ! MY FRIEND" !! I'm going to have a choice of using the lumber crayon or the stick (RR) chalk. . Available by doz.'s. white or yel. There is a tube to hold both poles when not in use. This is attached to the "BIG FOOT". It's my hope that you will be able to transport the 2 poles, chain (has a bag). Then you won't have to go find them on the job site or be walking back and forth to the vehicle. Or NOT leave them on a job site!! ***Check out the Radius Tool Page. YOU CAN HAVE YOUR CHOICE OF LUMBER CRAYON, REG.RR CHALK. The two pole set up is for the two person layout. With the two poles and two people, the radius/curve 90 degrees layout, goes 3 times faster. WITH NO BENDING OVER!! And is the most accurate. A perfect 90 every time, for every line. This set up can also be used for 60 degree layout, on a curve.

If just one person is doing the layout, the chain is attached to the BIG FOOT and you attach the chalk/holder and do the layout. WITH NO BENDING OVER !!

Also the pole with the metal clip can be used to hold the chalk string/line, for snapping chalk lines. !!!! (Second person--No bending over !!!). As you can tell, the tube does not interfere with the"cross arm" chalk box/pre-marked tape reel, bracket holders.

Price:Summer Special$50.00..$30.00 (set)...8 lbs.

SPECIAL!! How about a pole, to just do stall marking.  So, you don't have bend over!!!...$12., AND for $7.50.     I'll include a plug that has a metal snap (insert into chalk holder) to hold the chalk line holder's end, when snapping the chalk lines. NO BENDING OVER FOR THAT PERSON !!

"SPECIAL" 2 Poles & Radius/Chain-Gang -$100.00..  $90.00

Custom Marks on the Tapes

Custom Marks on the Tapes

******Invitation****I would like to invite anyone that's coming to Colorado for a summer or fall vacation to call And I would be delighted to show you anyof my Ideas. I'll find a parking lot that's not being used and demo. any or all my tools. Answer any questions...... 970-482-0049.    I'm between Denver and Cheyenne Wyo. ( 50 mi.'s south of I-80, on I-25).

****NEW MARKINGS ON TAPES- A FAST 60 DEGREE-****

I've taken upon myself to put a couple of extra marks on the layout tapes. This is a fast way to set the stalls for a 60 degree stall. If you do the math for a 60`coming out 18 ft. and 19 ft. from the curb, this line is always the same. Mark a couple of stalls along the curb (10'5"- 9' @ 60.) measure out from the curb 18' or 19', which ever you are using, 2 times, snap a chalk line. use the second stall, swing a arc out over the chalk line. if out 18' should be 20'9". Out 19' should be 22'. These two marks willbe on the tapes, PURPLE will be the 20'9" mark and the out from curb 19', 22' will be BROWN. This will set your stall mark for the isle stalls. If in doubt set a 60`triangle to check it !!!! This also is the marking for the 2nd 9'6"@60`; 11' x2= 22'. I'm hoping this will help speed up the layout time. I would like to know if it does. 970-482-0049

I'm also marking with a new INK. It's drying slow so[This ink was great BUT it didn't want to dry.] So, forget the new ink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These tapes have really gone over with a BANG. So many co's have said that finally got the stalls they use.  And they can get a 9'6', 8'6" and 10' @ 60 degrees too. "YOU CHOOSE!!" NEW! NEW! NEW! CUSTOM MARKED STALL TAPES !!! I talked to several gentlemen at the San Diego Show, they tell me that some of the colors that are used on the tapes can't be detected by color blindness. So, tell me what colors you can want. I'll put what ever works for you. What stalls would you like marked on your tape? MANY PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY NEVER USE THE 8.5' STALL, OR THE 45°, SO WHY HAVE IT ON THE TAPE. Any stall sizes, any angle. You could have a couple of tapes marked the same, or NOT.

Maybe a tape that's all 90 degree stalls and a tape with all 60 degree angle. I've marked tapes for warehouses, tractor-trailor parking, warehouse freight doors, ect.

I have to tell you why I put 10' 5" for the 9 ft. @ 60°. When they started making the Pre-Marked Tapes, someone saw a chart that had (10.39) 10.4, (they were not a engineer or architect). This was a decimal point not in INCHES. YIKES.. But, So the industry took this on as correct. Well .. if you do a perfect 60° triangle and design a stall for a 9 ft. stall using the 10' 4", it won't be 9 ft. wide. I've proved this several times it's 8' 11" + or -. By moving the angle a little it'll be 9', (it's about a 65° angle) that's what I did when I didn't know about the 10.4, actually some charts use 10.39 ft. So... if you have a tape that has inches on one side and tenths on the other, you'll see that it is closer to 10' 5". You will have a 9 ft. stall. Lots of charts are now showing 10' 5". The reason for all of this, if the Architect disigned the parking with 10.39 and you use 10'4" you are ging to end up with a couple of ft. at the 300 ft. end.... If you use 10'5" you'll come out with inches extra. You do the math.....

Colors are: RED, BLACK, BLUE, GREENLet us customize you tapes. YOU TELL ME!!! 970-482-0049 OR e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

In checking the cities websites on layouts , I find that more and more suggest in their spec's for 9 ft. @ 60°, use the 10 ft. 5 in. curb distance. In tenths of a ft. It's 10.39 or 10.4 ft.

6-10-2010...AN ORDER FROM CANADA...WANTED ONLY... 9'6" STALLS ON HIS TAPE IN BOTH 90` AND 60`.. BECAUSE IT'S LESS CONFUSING AND FAST FINDING THE MARKS..."CHRIS"

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A "RIGHTY HAND TAPE"???  IF YOU ARE PLACING AN ORDER AND ASK, I WILL INCLUDE A 30' "RIGHTY" WITH YOUR ORDER!!!  Want one? ..$10.

**Another Idea---

A customer in Texas wanted just a tape with 9 ft. and a tape with 9.5 both 300 ft.

I asked him why just one stall SIZE per tape..He said they use them at night and to many colors just slows them down. That had never occurred to me. But it would have helped me several times.

I've marked several tapes for double lines. I guess the WalMart/Sams have decided to use double lines..and 9.5 stalls. One Walmart also had 10' @ 60 degrees..I marked a tape for a gentleman in AL. He called and said that it won't work, they wanted 8 ft. between the inside lines and my measurement would only get 7.9' (that's in tenths) the plans were in Engineers Scale. Be careful when looking at plans usually they are tenths, Eng.Scale.  Well they had his crew, the Sup. on the job and the Engineer/Surveyors for the job all coming up "wrong" all with different results. They were using the Concrete Landscaped Islands. WE all know what that means!Surprised

I told him to ALWAYS check the Angle!!  Never assume that the site is correct.. That was the answer. It so easy..... ALL SIDES OF A 60° TRIANGLE ARE THE SAME LENGTH, USE ANY LENGTH !!Wink

I've had to prove several times that you can layout stalls lots faster with a Pre-Marked tape. If only when it's upside down (most of the time). I don't care how good you are at math, forwards or backwards !!!

TALKING ABOUT MATH (??)... IF YOU HAVE TO FIGURE OUT A IRREGULAR LOT, MEANING YOU ARE COMING UP WITH NOT EVEN FIGURES: A LOT THAT IS 98 FT. LONG, CUSTOMER WANTS 11 STALLS, 98÷ 11 = 8.9 FT. PER STALL. WE'RES 8.9 ON YOUR FT TAPE? (8'10 13/16") THAT'S LOTS OF MEASURING, CURB/ISLE. IF YOU HAVE A TENTHS TAPE YOU JUST USE 8.9 FOR EACH STALL. YOU JUST SAVED 30 MIN LAYOUT TIME. (AND HOPE YOU DIDN'T MISS A 13/16. THEN HE'S GOING TO ASK: WHAT IF WE USE 60 DEGREES ??????

I now have over 68 types of marking combinations and counting.  6/05/14

NEW BUSINESS--Getting Started-?-COMBO #4 -SPECIAL"

Example:

A BIG FOOT, A LAYOUT TOOL, A 200 or 300 FT. PRE-MARKED SURVEYORS/LAYOUT TAPE,  A K-150 CHALK BOX. AND A RCGT Radius Tool.. REG.PRICE..$355.00 +s/h (save $40 off reg.)....$315.00..+..S/H.

Your choices of 4 stalls on the (PMT) pre-marked tape !!! And by Request, You get the layout manuals "Free" with the Big Foot !!! and the RCGT !!!  (2).  If more than 4 stalls: $15.00 PER SET ON 300 ft. And $10.00 per set on 200 ft.

If your just starting up and need an extra helper (Big Foot) or help with layout outs, this special will get you started. These 4 tools are the main-stay for the layout part of the business. If you call a.m. I can ship next day. You don't bend over to move the BIG FOOT.

Need Help with deciding the stalls for your PMT ? Before you call, check several lots in your area to see what's mostly used. That seems to be big question when people need or finally want a (PMT) pre-marked tape. All areas in the US are not the same as to what stalls are needed. The two 9"s are the most popular.  The 9ft. @ 90° "Straight in Parking". And the 60° "Angle" parking.

When you measure the "Angle" parking, measure along the curb or on the drive, from one stripe end to the next end. This will tell how wide the stall is. If it is at an angle and it measures close to 10' 4" or 5" along the curb or isle it's probably a 9' wide stall. Lots of the new Walmart's are putting in wider stalls, 9.5 & 10 ft. FOR CORRECT STALL WIDTH: MEASURE @ 90`FROM ONE STRIPE TO THE OTHER ACROSS THE STALL. I can email a dirgram.  Want a catalog ? Call or e-mail.

Please call Or email.. I'll try to help with any Questions... Bill @ 970-482-0049 (colo) 7 am. to ?? any day. Ship next day.

"HOW ABOUT 2 TAPES"

"YOU CAN HAVE TWO SIZED TAPES, THAT HAVE DIFFERENT STALLS"for $200.00

THE SPECIAL IS FOR 1-200 FT. AND 1-300 FT. "P.M. SURVEYORS TAPE". REGULAR PRICE OF $110.00 AND $120.00=$230.00. Save $30.00....Special $200.00.. 2 tapes same stalls or different STALLS !!! Inches or in tenths. One could be inches the other in tenths. If you order a Tenths tape I'll include a hand tape in tenths.

If I were to have two tapes.. (both in tenths). I would have a 200 ft. w/both 9's (90` & 60`) & Put a 10' @ 90. Then on the 300 ft. put some not so common stalls. If you do a lot of large lots you should have a 300 ft. with the stalls for them. Then a 200' with the not so common stalls. ie: 8'6", 9'6"@ 90 & 60, maybe a 10' @ 60. There are lots of choices check your area. If you know you will layout some 45's have some of those too. I did about a dozen 45° stalls in 30 yrs. To many stalls on a tape can make very difficult to understand in low light time hrs. OR you have 60° on one tape and 90°on the other.

[If you might need a few 45`stalls and not on all 300 ft., I could mark the first 100 ft. only. "You only get appx. two stalls in ea. 25 ft., for 9 ft. wide stalls". (8 Stalls=102 ft.)]

THE REASON I HAVE THIS SPECIAL IS THAT IF YOU HAVE BOTH SIZES, YOU WILL USE THE 200 FT. MOST OF THE TIME !!! ON MOST PARKING LOTS, YOU'LL NEVER PULL OUT THE 300 FT. TAPE. LOT'S ARE SMALL AND HAVE SO MUCH LANDSCAPING, THAT MEANS YOU DRAG THE TAPE AND SPOOL AROUND. IT GETS TANGLED AROUND THE CURBS AND YOUR WASTING TIME and MONEY. So decide what stalls you want on each tape and call!!! By the way, I've added two marks on the layout tapes.. to speed up layout time. If you are laying 60 degree parking and coming out from curb, I put a PURPLE mark at 20'9" on the tape and if you are coming out 19' from the curb, I put a BROWN mark on thetape at 22'. So, layout a couple of stalls, come out the distance from the curb with 2 marks, snap a chalk line between the 2 marks, hold -0- on one of the stalls and swing a arc over the chalked line using the proper mark on the tape... WALLA.... you have the 60 degree angle. Go on with the layout using this mark and the stall marks on the curb side................ !!  YOUR WELCOME!

Catalog - Powder Chalk

BULK POWDERED CHALKPowder Chalk

GOOD NEWS

I've got white chalk again, But it's NOT the good chalk as before. It's White. I'm going to stock 5 lbs. and 25 lbs.

This is KESON'S best White

Keson's best grade chalk. 1st grade doesn't come in white. (???) I only stock WHITE.

HINT: After the string is broken in, Do Not fill the chalk box up to capacity each time. Too much chalk is lost with each pull-out. One of the secrets to getting more snaps per pull-out is to snap the first lines lightly.

Some customers couldn't find white chalk.

So this will be better than no chalk at all.

PRICES: 5#..$10.00, 25#...$25.00 -  I've been selling by the pallet 125/150 lbs. Shipped to You from Keson ..... Saves on shipping.!!!!!!!
